That afternoon, while preparing to work on a lab assignment from her class in Cisco routing, Laura mentions that she would use a switch to implement VLANs to increase the performance of the design companys network because VLANs can be implemented quickly in switches. Explain to Laura when and where a VLAN would be the best choice. Under what circumstances would a VLAN not be the best choice? Provide examples to clarify your points. •   

Another technician for the networking solutions firm, Jennifer, overhears the discussion as she sits down to examine the lab materials on Laura's desk. Jennifer thinks the design company should use an unmanaged switch to solve the problem.
